Nature-focused Art Classes

I offer seasonal art classes blending science and creativity, tailored for people of all knowledge and abilities.

Each session starts with an engaging exploration of natural subjects like fungi, plants, or marine life—often outdoors—focusing on their biology and connection to the environment.

Students then transition to guided watercolour painting, capturing their observations with optional mixed media techniques. These classes inspire creativity, teach artistic skills, and deepen appreciation for nature in a fun, approachable way.

Please note: Classes are finished for 2024. Sign up for my newsletter to hear about when new classes are posted.

Doing Sarah’s fungus class was both educational and fun. Sarah’s welcoming attitude, knowledge and enthusiasm made the class so much fun and has definitely sparked an interest in getting
creative with water colours. Can’t wait to do more classes with Sarah.

I joined Sarah’s “Plant School” on a coastal Tuesday evening and loved it. We began in the studio and went over the plan for the evening, went for a walk on the nearby trails to look and learn about local plants, and came back to the studio to start painting.

I loved that the course paired two teachings, plant knowledge and art skills. I went home with a handful of takeaways and will definitely be back. Thank you, Sarah!
